Barack Obama, US President, Cautions - Use the Internet Wisely

U.S. President Barack Obama could have been speaking to anyone with, or considering, a social networking account, when he spoke to a group of high school students on September 9, 2009 and said, "First of all, I want everybody here to be careful about what you post on Facebook, because in the YouTube age, whatever you do, it will be pulled up again later somewhere in your life."

"And when you're young, you make mistakes and you do some stupid stuff. And I've been hearing a lot about young people who -- you know, they're posting stuff on Facebook, and then suddenly they go apply for a job and somebody has done a search and -- so that's some practical political advice for you right there," he said. Be very wary of the personal / family content you place anywhere on the internet. You never know where it will end up and how it will be used. I believe President Barack Obama's key message can be applied across the whole web when he said,"...I want everybody here to be careful about what you post..."

Yet, there is incredible benefit using the internet for school marketing and other commercial reasons - just take care how the internet is used particularly when dealing with personal information.
